Amy Adams Offered Lead Role in Clint Eastwood's 'Trouble With the Curve'
Last week, it was reported that Sandra Bullock had passed on the chance to star with Clint Eastwood in 'Trouble with the Curve' after negotiations stalled. Hopefully the same fate doesn't await Amy Adams. The Oscar-nominated actress has gotten an offer to appear in the new film as Eastwood's onscreen daughter, and -- if you believe Variety -- she'd basically be a fool to pass it up. Writes Variety reporter Justin Kroll, "Now while it is only an offer and no negotiations have begun, it is hard to believe that Adams and her team would not find a way to make this work -- it would be tough for anyone to look back on their career and say they had the opportunity to work with Eastwood in one of his last performances but decided to pass." Anyone but Sandy Bullock? In 'Trouble With the Curve,' Eastwood plays an aging baseball scout who goes on one last road trip with his estranged daughter to check out a high-value prospect. Unlike 'Torino,' 'Curve' will not have Eastwood behind the camera as well; his producing partner Robert Lorenz will make his directorial debut with the film. Judging from the response to 'J. Edgar,' that's probably for the best. [via Variety] [Photo: JEAN-PAUL AUSSENARD/BAUER-GRIFFIN] Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook
