Watercooler: Was Save Me's Series Finale Hot or otherwise?
Save Me Smoke Them if ya got Them folks! Last evening, Save Me rang its final alarm by having an intensely fitting finale. By focusing on the aftermath of Lou's dying, we've got a heaping load from the show's gallows humor and hard-guy heart, best displayed because the crew collected to spread the red-colored velvet "ashes" of the fallen Lieutenant. Even though the finale was timed to coincide using the tenth anniversary of 9/11, star Denis Leary and show creator Peter Tolan permitted the memory of this tragic day to merely shade their finale script than drive it. The closing scene in the memorial would be a nice touch, if this might have been huge-handed jerk in lesser hands. However, we were not so hot concerning the madcap moments allocated to Janet's sudden labor. Yeah, it had been nice to determine things finally start to sort out for that Gavin clan, however for a reveal that happens to be so great at gritty realism, the earth's quickest baby delivery appeared just a little beyond, you realize? Still, that brief stay in silliness is not enough to dull our popularity of the finale's refusal to visit all-out "happy ending," or the show's seven-season dedication towards the males and ladies who risk everything running into blazes as others try to escape from their store. We might never see 62 Truck again, but it is nice to consider that they are still together, busting each other peoples gemstones round the firehouse table and waiting to become the heroes this show has always saluted.
